What is the International Astronautical Congress?

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is the world's largest annual space conference, a place where the global space community gathers to share ideas, explore innovations, and set the course for the future of space exploration and sustainability. Since its beginnings in 1950, the IAC has grown into a unique event that brings together space agencies, industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and students from all over the world.

IAC 2025 in Sydney

In 2025, the IAC takes place in Sydney, Australia, from 29 September to 3 October. For one week, the city hosts discussions that range from satellite technology and orbital mechanics to planetary exploration and space sustainability. The congress is much more than a series of technical sessions, it is a global meeting point where visions for the future of space are shaped.

Why OKAPI:Orbits is attending

For OKAPI:Orbits, being part of IAC 2025 is an important opportunity to share our mission and expertise with the international community. Our work focuses on space situational awareness (SSA), space domain awareness (SDA), flight dynamics, and anomaly detection. By combining data-driven detection of irregular satellite behavior with advanced orbital mechanics for maneuver planning, we are helping to make satellite operations safer, more transparent, and more sustainable.
