What is the International Astronautical Congress?
TheInternational Astronautical Congress (IAC) is the world’s largest annual spaceconference, a place where the global space community gathers to share ideas, explore innovations, and set the course for the future of space exploration andsustainability. Since its beginnings in 1950, the IAC has grown into a uniqueevent that brings together space agencies, industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and students from all over the world.
IAC 2025 in Sydney
In 2025, theIAC will take place in Sydney, Australia, from September 29 to October 3.For one week, the city will host discussions that range from satellitetechnology and orbital mechanics to planetary exploration and spacesustainability.
The congress ismuch more than a series of technical sessions—it is a global meeting pointwhere visions for
Why OKAPI:Orbits is Attending
ForOKAPI:Orbits, being part of IAC 2025 is an important opportunity to share ourmission and expertise with the international community. Our work focuses on spacesituational awareness (SSA), space domain awareness (SDA), flight dynamics, andanomaly detection. By combining data-driven detection of irregularsatellite behavior with advanced orbital mechanics for maneuver planning, weare helping to make satellite operations safer, more transparent, and moresustainable.
Visitors canfind us at the German Pavilion, Booth 704.2, where our team willshowcase how we support operators across all mission phases.
Shaping the Future of Space Safety
The IAC is theideal platform to present these solutions to a global audience. It is a chanceto engage with satellite operators, agencies, insurers, and researchers who areall facing the same challenge: how to keep space safe and accessible in an eraof growing activity and complexity in orbit.
At IAC 2025, wewill also be contributing directly to the technical program with twopresentations:
- Interactive Presentation – October 1, 13:25
Topic: Our unified SaaS platform that integrates SSA and Space Traffic Management (STM) into a single operational solution, designed for seamless integration into satellite operators’ ground segments. - DMF Presentation – October 2, 15:00–17:00 | Room C4.10
Topic: Insights on ESA’s Debris Mitigation Facility (DMF) for mission optimization and compliance.
Connect with OKAPI:Orbits at IAC 2025
We look forward to joining theconversations at IAC 2025 and to contributing to a shared vision of a secureand sustainable orbital environment.
👥 Meet our team on-site — Kristina Nikolaus,Tilmann Packheiser, and Dr. Sven Flegel — and explore how our solutionshelp keep satellites safe while supporting operators with data-drivendecision-making.
